Olivia Sparrow

From October 2016 to October 2017, I was Artist in Residence at Manchester School of Art. At the end of the residency, I intended to throw a 'closing party' which would include a performance about my year. This didn't happen. Instead, a few months later, I made a zine using a mixture of text adapted from the unused performance script, archival phone images and emails, covering topics such as abuse, love, class and mental illness. If you read it, you may be able to understand why I couldn't go through with the performance. Maybe.

Residency is available to buy via my online shop and at BOOKS, Peckham. 60 pages, A5, colour, 120gsm uncoated paper, limited print run. Each zine is individually tampered with and numbered. Contains explicit and potentially triggering content. A copy is available to read in Special Collections at the Tate Library.
